What is Worship?
Satan: "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
Jesus Responds: "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only." Matt 4:9 -10
The definition of worship: Exalting/Worshipping Jesus
...We saw his star in the east and have come to worship Him. Matt 2:2
Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped Him. Matt 28:9

Worship him in spirit and truth.
Not in a tomb of bricks and mortar.
So many people get caught up in the administration of a church or following the deception of a cultic leader, when peace and beauty can be found in worshipping Christ Jesus alone!
I've found that reading the Holy Bible and applying his word is the best way to worship Christ Jesus!
John Kettner:

You are a true John 14:21 Man:
He that has my commandments, and keepth them, he it is that loveth me; and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest/reveal myself to him.
The New Testament uses several words for worship. Two of which are proskuneo and latreuo.
Proskuneo is a commonly used term that literally means "to kiss the hand," or "to bow down." It is the word for worship used to signify humble adoration.
Latreuo suggests rendering honor, or paying homage.
When we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, we approach Him with all humility for He is the Almighty God, our Creator and Only Salvation. His word is to be believed, feared and obeyed.
We worship Him in spirit as it is only with spiritual eyes that we can see and know God and we worship Him in Truth as He IS the only Way, TRUTH and Life.
good post PB.

Magi:

This is great stuff Magi When we worship Jesus we are worshipping the Father in spirit and truth for the scripture tells us:
"He that believeth on me. Believeth not on me. but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me"
If this is what you meant by "our spiritual eyes" this is brilliant.
Scripture has one truth which is found in Jesus in whom we worship.
Hmmmmm....Is this going to work?
Welcome Back Puritan!
Hope you are well and had a Happy Easter!
The true worshippers are given the Spirit upon regeneration and at the same time are caused to believe the truth (i.e. the gospel). They worship in the Spirit, because they have the Spirit, and in truth, because they believe the gospel. Anyone without the truth (i.e. a belief in the gospel), does not have the Spirit, and anyone without the Spirit (i.e. not born again), does not have the truth. The true worshippers are the ones who are regenerated by the Spirit of Truth.
Paul:
Your words are spot on and backed up by John 1:12-13
... even to them that believe on his name: Which were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, BUT OF GOD.
We are caused to believe the truth because the truth/Jesus is in us.
It's good you are back PB. Your post's have been very inspiring during the last few months like how you exalting the Lord Jesus in every doctrine to the highest position and ascribe all Glory Honour and Power to Jesus Christ alone there is no other than Jesus, he alone is God as He said in the old testament I am the Lord your God Isa:42:10 you are my witnesses before me there was no god formed, neither shall there be after me.
Many good thought-provoking replies from the other saints!! Prov.27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Keep up the good work! PB
and do not fret if some pastors, reverends and hypocrites Nash their teeth at you.
