The Puritans are the men of God who started in the 16th century building on the purity of the gospel message that Salvation is by Grace alone.

Who Raised Jesus From the Dead?

Jesus raised Himself
Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Jn 2:19

God raised Jesus
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. Acts 2:24

The Father raised Jesus
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places. Eph 1:20

The Spirit
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead Rom 8:11

Jesus took back his life
I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. Jn 10:18

If Jesus did not raise Himself from the dead He is a false prophet. (Deut 18:22) and disobedient to the Fathers commandment. It is abundantly clear which person raised Jesus from the dead in every instance of scripture.

So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this [I will raise it up]; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. Jn 2:22

Yes PB it is my heavenly Father who raised Jesus from the dead, and if I say the Father raised him from the dead! then I acknowledge that Jesus is my heavenly Father! if Jesus is not my spiritual Father, then who is??

Spot on Paul G, It is all there in the Word of God who became flesh and dwelt among us that raised Jesus from the dead. The truth is so simple that Jesus who is now in us exclaimed with great joy:

I praise you Father Lord of heaven and earth that you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and reveal them to infants.... No one knows the Father except the Son and everyone to whom the Son wills to reaveal Him.

And the Father has been revealed to the elect in all His fullness which is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

I don't know what anything I'm going to say has to do with this post but here I go anyways.

I have always wondered about people who pray only to Jesus. Jesus prayed to the Father. He instructed everyone to pray to the Father.

It's through Jesus we come to the Father. Isn't that interesting. God who became flesh and dwelt among us (Jesus) gives us access back to Him through Himself.

I also wonder about people who think that by ending a prayer "in Jesus name" they have somehow made it official or whatever. Praying in Jesus name is to pray in His Spirit, in His Will, under His Blood. I never see anyone praying "in Jesus name" in the bible. I never use that line. I guess I'm just stubborn like that. I always end, "It's all for your glory". Who's glory? The Fathers!

It is so marvelously simple PB that's why the Lord Jesus has hidden these things from the wise and learned and reveal them to the unschooled.
They can never learn this in their bible colleges, only Jesus can reveal that to them.

To michael pendleton:
When you come to Jesus, you came to the only one and true God Jesus, you can not go through Him! you have come to the Creator!
you have arrived, you can rest in Him.

Michael:
I see prayer in Jesus name all throughout scripture so lets listen to Jesus praying:

"Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me," John 17:11

Jesus always prayed in the Fathers name Jesus Christ and instructs us to do the same.

You ended by saying this:
Who's glory? The Fathers!

Let me back you up with a scripture:

We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified. 2 Thess 1:12

To Michael,
"Its all your glory". Who's glory? The Fathers!

If you glorify The Father,
then I want to know what father?
Satan is called "father" in the bible, "father of lies!" and the god of this world.

All the glory must be to the Lord Jesus!
So when you glorify Jesus, you glorify the Father, for Jesus is the Father and the Father seeketh such to worship Him.

Excellent post PB.
You point out the trinity beautifully even though you have not intended to do so.

"God raised Jesus" Acts 2:24
But then you clarify the general term 'God' by pointing out that the Father, Son, and Spirit all were involved in the ressurection of Jesus.
"The Father raised Jesus" Eph 1:20
"The Spirit" Rom 8:11
"Jesus raised Himself" Jn 2:19 & Jn 10:18

Obviously not 3 gods but there is only One True Living God! The Alpha, and Omega! The one who saves! The Creator! The Father, His son Jesus and the Spirit of the Most High!

There are other acts which are ascribed to each of the Trinity in the bible as well.

Each is God, yet there is only 1 God:
Father: Phil. 1:2
Jesus: John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9
Holy Spirit: Acts 5:3-4

Each is the Creator:
Father: Isaiah 64:8; 44:24
Jesus: John 1:3; Col. 1:15-17
Holy Spirit: Job 33:4; 26:13

Each Dwells within the believer:
Father: 2 Cor. 6:16
Jesus: Col. 1:27
Holy Spirit: John 14:17

Each is omnipresent:
Father: 1 Kings 8:27
Jesus: Matt. 28:20
Holy Spirit: Psalm 139:7-10

Each is all knowing:
Father: 1 John 3:20
Jesus: John 16:30; 21:17
Holy Spirit: 1 Cor. 2:10-11

etc.

What a wonderfull God we serve that He would lay down His life for His people, and then rise again to conquor sin and death!

All Praise, Honour and Glory to Jesus alone who is God, our Creator, Salvation, Father, Friend, Judge, High Priest, Way, Truth, Life, Comfort and Rest.

PB,
"Jesus always prayed in the Fathers name Jesus Christ and instructs us to do the same."

Christ is not actually the name of Jesus but rather a title which identifies Him as the Messiah.

This was magnificent Magi:
... Glory to Jesus alone who is God, our Creator, Salvation, Father, Friend ...
-----------
Please read the post one more time as there is something in the verses for you. If Jesus did not raise HIMSELF from the dead he is a false prophet. If another helped Him then he is no one to be trusted. Therefore:

Who was Jesus saying HE WAS when he said "I will raise it up"?

Yes my Heavenly Father is my messiah called Christ.

PB,
you redundantly asked "Who was Jesus saying HE WAS when he said "I will raise it up"?"

Jesus was of course saying He is God. Jesus is God. Nowhere does the doctorine of the Trinity suggest that Jesus is not God nor does it suggest that there is more than one god.

I would ask of you the same, that you look into the verses I listed as there may be some truth hidden in them for you too.

I do not want to revisit the trinitarian vs oneness debate again over the last half a dozen posts I think all has been said on the matter, we would both simply be repeating ourselves.

Since there is only One God and that god is triune it makes perfect sence that the wonders of God, such as creation, Jesus' ressurection etc are ascribed to each and all of the Trinity and not just one of the Father, or Jesus, or the Holy Spirit.

Good to see that you are back PB.

Jesus did the same with all those claiming to be wise as do I:

"Unless you know that I AM HE you will surely die in your sins"

above verses context:
... did not know that he was speaking about the FATHER....
John 8
It takes many words to explain away a simple truth.

The whole bible repeats Jesus as I continue to do. Even though you say you don't want to revisit this in the next post your comments say something different.
